Historic Cattle Ranch & Hunting Land For Sale in Belvidere, KS
For the first time in 33 years and possibly the last time ever, the Soldier Creek Ranch in southeast Kiowa County, Kansas is being offered for sale. This 395 acre ranch has a very rich history as outlined in the attached Soldier Creek Ranch History document. This ranch is an oasis that lies between the historic Robbins Ranch (formerly The Rockefeller Ranch) to the north and the world famous Hashknife Ranch to the south. With a history going back to before 1868, when the property was a part of the Osage Indian Trust Land, this ranch has always been a very special place.
With the beautiful, crystal clear Soldier Creek running most of the length of the ranch, another spring fed creek at the east side of the land, two windmills and five water wells, reliable water is never a problem. The ranch rests in the Red Hills region which is the second largest intact piece of native prairie in Kansas. The Gypsum Hills, as they are also called, is a mixed prairie with a combination of both tall and short species of grasses on which cattle, horses and wildlife thrive. Regardless of the weather, at least one of the types of grasses will flourish. This Red Hills area was believed to provide medicinal properties with the mineral rich water from the Medicine River.
