Colorado real estate broker Scott Reece

A long-time resident of Western Colorado, Scott Reece has gained a reputation as a respected figure in the world of high-end residential construction in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. As a kid growing up in Southern California, he learned to surf at an early age. However, that world was turned upside down when his parents moved the family to Basalt, just downvalley from Aspen, in the late 1970’s. That was a simpler time in the Roaring Fork Valley, when kids helped ranchers load hay bales into the barn and ski tickets at Aspen Highlands were five bucks. After a stint at Colorado State University studying physics and engineering, Scott realized that academia wasn’t for him. He came home and started working construction in Aspen.

Extensive experience in high-end luxury home construction

Starting out as a drywall contractor, Scott has worked on some of the most expensive and elaborate custom homes in the world, delivering a product that demands a keen attention to detail. His project management and bidding skills have ensured successful completion of hundreds of luxury homes, ski condos, hotels and lodges, commercial buildings, and ranch projects for quite possibly the most demanding clientele in the world. Many of the projects that Scott has helped complete have involved some of the most famous architects and builders in the world, with CEO’s, famous actors, entrepreneurs, athletes, and entertainers as end users.

A real estate broker with a keen value proposition

Most recently Scott has decided to take his considerable skills into the world of real estate brokerage. His knowledge of the construction industry brings a unique value to buyers and sellers. After being involved in literally hundreds of projects, Scott has a keen sense of what it took to bring a project to market and how the market responds. He understands trends in design, materials, and construction that few other brokers can report, and he has an insider’s knowledge of value and market timing. His database of contractors, architects, project managers, and real estate experts is the result of a long career of working with the best in the business.

Work hard, play hard–hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, dirt biking

On a personal level, Scott is low-key, very friendly, and unassuming. He is not a self-promoter and his humble persona is engaging. His work ethic is very strong, and he ensures success when he engages in a project. Scott embraces the Western Colorado lifestyle, enjoying skiing, snowboarding, big game hunting, snowmobiling, and fishing. An excellent hunter, Scott has provided for his family with remarkable consistency, scoring on a mule deer buck and a bull elk almost every autumn for 40 years, as well as a giant black bear recently.

Family is very important to Scott, as he and his wife, Kathy, have raised five children to adulthood. They recently relocated to the small Western Colorado town of Hotchkiss, where they enjoy solitude and views from their beautiful log home. Scott intends to take a wider view in his real estate career, with projects in the Roaring Fork and North Fork valleys and across Western Colorado. He is interested in hunting land, ranches, luxury residential properties, and commercial real estate.
